QUEENSTOWN TO GIBBSTON EXPLORER

Queenstown Trail | 1 Day - Self-guided 34-37km (Grade 2-3, Easy-Intermediate)

>> Queenstown-Gibbston

In Queenstown jump on board the Kiwi Journeys shuttle to Arthurs Point, where so many of the trails that explore Queenstown start from.  There, our crew will tell you all about the
trail options and conduct a bike fitting before you take to the tracks!   This self-guided eBike tour includes Premium eBike rental and shuttles for access at either end to connect with the trails.

Your Day Adventure

From  Arthurs Point, cyclists after a leisurely ride can follow the Wharehuanui Trail heading towards Arrowtown.  After a look Around the historic township of Arrowtown with plenty of shops, galleries and cafes to duck into, join the Arrow River Bridges Trail heading east towards Gibbston.

If you’re more of an adventurer and like a challenge, the new Shotover Gorge Trail from Arthurs Point is for you.  With a 108m long tunnel delving into the gorge, and stunning scenery that winds along the Shotover River, this route connects easily with the Twin Rivers Trail which travels alongside both the Shotover and Kawarau Rivers towards Gibbston.

Whatever trail you choose, once you connect to the Gibbston River Trail at the Kawarau Bungy Bridge, be sure to see how many dare devils you can spot!  Along the Gibbston River Trail
explore the many cellar doors of Gibbston wine country before finishing the day at Mt Rosa Wines, where the Kiwi Journeys depot is located.

This all inclusive option makes it easy to explore - all biking equipment and associated shuttles are included.  Just turn up and enjoy the ride!

  • Leaving Arthur's Point behind, the choice is yours!  The Shotover Gorge Trail heading towards the Twin Rivers Trail is for the adventurous, while those looking for a more leisurely ride will connect with the new Wharehuanui Trail heading towards Arrowtown
  • Surrounded by mountainscapes and following rivers, the trails wind through the heart of the Queenstown basin
  • Stop in Arrowtown for a wander around the shops and cafes, or spot bungy jumpers at the Kawarau Bungy Bridge
  • There are wineries aplenty along the Gibbston River Trail heading towards Mt Rosa Winery where the Kiwi Journeys depot is located, and where this tour ends
