Unwind and Explore the Scenic Lake Dunstan Trail 

Looking for an unforgettable cycling adventure through some of New Zealand’s most stunning landscapes? The Lake Dunstan Discovery Tour offers the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. Cycle along the crystal-clear waters of Lake Dunstan, and enjoy the spectacular views of Central Otago’s rugged beauty. The Lake Dunstan Trail offers an accessible ride past vineyards, historic sites, and charming townships at either end of the trail.

Today you have four options:

A: We shuttle you to Clyde (9.00am) and you ride back to our base in Cromwell

B: Leave from our depot in Cromwell and ride to Clyde for an afternoon pick-up at 4.00pm

C: Speed Boat Transfer: Take the Lake Dunstan Explorer, Cromwell to Clyde departing Cromwell at 9.15am - (additional $100pp)

D: Speed Boat Transfer: Take the Lake Dunstan Explorer, Clyde to Cromwell departing Clyde Dam at 3.00pm - (additional $100pp)

NB: We recommend you choose option A or C! This direction from Clyde to Cromwell ensures a safer, more relaxing ride, as it keeps you on the inside of the trail, away from potential hazards, making for a more enjoyable and stress-free ride. You also get to experience a Vineyard lunch at Carrick winery around 1.00pm, enjoying an exquisite inside dining experience or more informal pizza and drinks on bean bags overlooking the incredible views.

Arrival -

Please arrive at our Cromwell depot at 8.30am for a 9.00am departure.

This package includes –

·    Bike hire – Trek trail bike, MIPS helmet, pannier bag, repair kit and pump

·    Shuttle Cromwell to Clyde departing 9.00am

·    Map and information

 Accidental damage insurance -

- Accidents do happen, we highly recommend you take accidental damage insurance. For example if the bike fell over and damaged a wheel, stand, derailleur or eBike computer, we will cover it! (New eBike computer = $250)

- Trail bike insurance (non eBike) $5 per person, per day

-eBike insurance: $10 per person, per day

·    Speed boat transfer Cromwell to Clyde $100.00pp (The Lake Dunstan Explorer will immerse you in the absolute scenic beauty of the lake and surrounding as you get a close-up view of the trail you are about to ride)

-    Upgrade to an eBike – Hardtail (additional $70pp)

-    Upgrade to a premium full suspension eBike - dual suspension KTM Chacana (additional $95pp)

-    Pick-up (and Drop-off) available from your accommodation in Queenstown and Wanaka - Additional $55pp each way (return $110pp)
